Francisco Javier Aguilar García (born 26 March 1949 in Santander, Cantabria) is a retired Spanish professional footballer who played as a forward.
Aguilar started his career with local Racing de Santander, making his senior debuts at only 18, and helping the Cantabrians achieve promotion to the second division in 1970. In the following year, he signed with La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid, finishing his first season with 31 games (28 starts) and six goals as the club won the national championship; he added three in only four games in the UEFA Cup, but his team was eliminated in the second round.
Safe for two seasons, Aguilar was regularly used by the Merengues during his spell, winning five leagues and two Spanish Cups - including the double in 1974–75 - and appearing in nearly 200 official games. In the 1979 summer, aged 30, he joined Sporting de Gijón, playing regularly but only managing to score on six occasions in two seasons combined.
Aguilar retired from football in June 1983 at the age of 34, after two years with another club in Madrid, second level's Rayo Vallecano (12 goals in 36 games in his first season). Over the course of ten seasons, he amassed top division totals of 189 games and 40 goals.
During one year and-a-half, Aguilar played three matches for Spain. He made his debut on 24 November 1971 in a UEFA Euro 1972 qualifier against Cyprus in Granada, replacing Real Madrid teammate Amancio Amaro at half-time and scoring the fifth goal in an eventual 7–0 routing.
